The Glossier Roundup

One benefit of spending more time at home throughout lockdown is that I have been able to slow things down, and take time to appreciate little things like making a good coffee in the morning or taking time at night to create a solid skincare routine. In fact, my skincare routine has been the only routine thing about my days recently.

This has filled me with a whole new appreciation for some of my favourite products – many of which are from Glossier, so today I thought it would be nice to write up a mega roundup post of my ride or dies from the brand.

Whether you are a Glossier newbie or are simply looking for some product inspo to brighten your lockdown days, I hope you find this little guide handy!

Priming Moisturiser Rich

As a self-confessed Glossier fangirl, I was over the moon when the brand revealed it’s ‘Mini’s’ set around Christmas time. I’m a big fan of these selection box style sets as they allow customers to get a real feel for the product before purchasing the full size. I feel like this is especially handy when it comes to skincare as it is almost impossible to predict how your skin will react to a product before applying.

It was with this set that I first discovered my favourite ( a bold claim, I know) Glossier product of all time – the Priming Moisturiser Rich. As someone with oily / combination skin, I would normally stay (very far) away from a product like this. However, since it was included in the set, I thought I would give it a bash anyway – (author resists the urge to write YOLO).

I have now been using- and repurchasing this product for four months and cannot seem to get enough. It is super rich like it says on the tin but dries fairly quickly without leaving behind a greasy or oily residue.  With its super fatty acid and ceramide rich formula it is said to lock in the skin’s moisture over time whilst providing a dewy balanced finish. I for one can definitely attest to. Usually, with a cream this rich, I would only apply at night to avoid my makeup slipping and sliding throughout the day but I have magically been able to wear this as a base under my foundation – shock horror. Could this be the perfect rich moisturiser for combination skin? I think so!

The texture feels quite unique, almost balm-like, I personally find it to be comparable to Charlotte Tilbury’s coveted magic cream which I’m also a huge fan of. However, in terms of pricing, Glossier really knocks it out of the park. Anyway, I think you get the gist by now, but yep, if I were to recommend one product from Glossier, it would absolutely be this.

When Glossier first launched in the UK, I initially had quite the list of products I was desperate to try out. However, for some reason, their serums didn’t seem to be on there. Foremostly because I hadn’t really heard all that much about them and at the time, their famous cult classics like Bow Brow and Balm Dot Com’s were stealing the limelight.

However, around Christmas time, within the same set as the moisturiser came the brand’s Super Bounce serum – a product which I would class as a real dark horse. From its lightweight consistency, you wouldn’t think that it could pack all that much of a punch but after using this for the past few months, I have been taken aback by the superpowers of this little gem.

Packed with hyaluronic acid and vitamin B5 it is said to hydrate the skin, giving it it’s “bounce” back which can often be lost throughout the winter months or during long haul flights etc. It is especially great on those days where you need a little moisture boost but don’t fancy something as thick as cream. Another point worth noting as that the formula doesn’t pill on the skin when worn under other products which is great, and often rare with serums of this nature. Overall, another fantastic product from the brand and a definite re-purchase.

The Eyebrow Flick

If you’re a fan of Glossier, you will know that the brand’s  Boy Brow is considered one of it’s cult products – and quite rightly so, it is great! However today, I am sharing the love for their latest brow release – The Brow Flick. Personally, I am a 15-minute makeup kinda girl when it comes to my everyday routine. I love using products that I know I can rely on that are pretty much foolproof.

This is exactly how I would describe Glossier’s Brow Flick. The brush pen-like tip allows you to easily mimic brow hair strokes and fill in any gaps for a natural look that is buildable. Brows can sometimes be tricky (especially pre-coffee or on the go) but this fab pen is here to save the day! Love, love, love!

Glossier – Balm Dot Com

Yes, they look cute, yes they smell like a dream and yes they do the trick. Admittedly, lip balm isn’t something I really apply when doing my skincare ( although I probably should). I like to use these more when I’m out and about, especially when I’m travelling and throughout the winter months.

In all honesty, I personally can’t tell much of a difference from lip balm to lip balm but I do know that these feel great and they smell amazing – what more do ya need? I think the balms also make great gifts and are a fab way to introduce a friend or family member to the Glossier Brand. If I had to pick a favourite from the Balm Dot Com lineup, it would definitely be the Birthday Balm.

The Perfume

Next up, is another unexpected favourite of mine – Glossier’s ‘You‘ scent. Call me a cynic, but when brands or celebrities release a perfume as an extension of their product range, I often feel like it’s a bit of a cop-out. Like it’s just an easy sell or a bit unnecessary, think two in one shampoo and conditioner vibes.

However, after receiving a handful of samples of the perfume within my order’s (yep, I am a sucker) I fell in love with the scent. It is described on the Glossier site as an addictive musk with creamy base notes that transform and smell a little different on everyone and I would definitely agree with the musky part. Describing scents is not my bag but I can assure you that it smells heavenly, so much so that my sister and a friend have also purchased a bottle since receiving their samples or from me wearing it.

If you are on the fence on whether or not to purchase, I’d say go for it – and if you’re intrigued, I’d definitely recommend choosing a perfume sample when checking out, that way you can try before you buy!

Invisible Shield

When searching for a facial sun cream to apply underneath my makeup last summer, Glossier’s Invisible Shield SPF30  seemed to top all of the polls and reviews I had read. I for one am terrible at applying SPF, and I’m definitely not someone who applies it every day as recommended. However, prior to heading to the US summer, I knew I needed something to keep my skin safe and protected. I personally loved the gel-like texture of the product and felt that it applied super easily without leaving a white cast.

Again, as an oily skinned gal, finding a product which didn’t leave a greasy residue like most traditional creams do was also really important. I can very happily report that the Invisible Shield ticked all of the boxes and didn’t seem to break me out which I’ve read is a common issue with most SPF’s. If you are on the lookout for an SPF to keep you safe from sun rays this summer I’d say that this is a winner, for sure!

Cloud Paint

Cloud paint is another product which has achieved ‘Cult Product’ status over the years. In fact, it was one of the first products I ever purchased from Glossier, and remains one of my favourites to this day. Remember what I said about 15-minute makeup? Well, this little gem is a must-have for a quick and easy application. The Cloud Paint is another multi-tasker which can be used on cheeks, lips and eyes but I personally just like to stick to applying it as a blush. For a browny rose flush to the cheeks, shade Dusk (my top pick) is the one for you. Although Storm and Beam are next on my list…

The Moon Mask

Last but not least, we have The Moon Mask. Personally, I much prefer potted masks over single-use sheet masks. Not only are they better for the environment but I love being able to use a little bit here and there whenever I feel that certain areas of my skin feel a little dry. The Moon Mask is particularly great to de-pot and use when flying or travelling – it’s a lot less obvious/terrifying-looking than wearing a complete sheet mask over your face. Jam-packed with hydrating ingredients like almond oil, squalane and hyaluronic acid, the mask leaves the skin feeling super bouncy and hydrated after use. It’s like a big drink for your skin. I’ve heard it is also great to use as an overnight mask too! As for the mega-greens mask, I have yet to try it but have heard great things, it’s definitely next on my list!

I hope you enjoyed this mega Glossier roundup/ramble. If you have any recommendations from the brand, I’d love to hear your favourites too! I also have a link here which you can use to redeem 10% off your first Glossier order if you’ve been inspired/enabled by this content.
